I always have such good memories of getting to know Ken Colley during the filming of this little ditty. For years, he'd always been 'that bloke wot was in Star Wars' who would occasionally wander past our house on his way to the high street. Suddenly, he was there in my mum and dad's living room, sharing stories of filming Empire Strikes Back and Firefox and waxing lyrical about 'Kenny' (Russell).
If that wasn't enough, David Motta, the sound recordist, and a most delightful man, also regaled us with tales of Bernardo Bertolucci. Fun fact: Bertolucci never let anyone shut doors when they entered a scene, just in case they were shutting out a bit of serendipitous magic.
I learned more in two days than I probably did in my entire degree, filming this. Ken was on fire, and was happy to push me on more than one occasion. Hopefully, I passed the test. We became good friends afterwards, and he asked me to edit his films, so I guess so. I miss him.
